The idea for this blog came after our bishop counseled us to journal everyday as part of the healing process. Journaling has led to a great deal of self reflection and the desire to share. And so... we blog.
Why would anyone want to share such personal things? Well, as one who has been addicted to pornography and lust for more than 25 years... I know how lonely it is. I felt often that no one could possibly understand what it is I am going through.. I was convinced that I must be completely alone in my impulses and behaviors. This blog for me (the recovering addict) is a way to share my journey, insights, and successes.
I am sharing this blog with my wife (The recovering spouse). She will also share her journey, experiences, insights and inspirations. Her perspective is that of one who has been hit out of nowhere by an unexpected freight train. She will share the emotions and pain of the spouse who is working through acceptance, forgiveness, and healing.
A little about us. We have been married for over 17 years and have 5 beautiful children aged high school to elementary. We are both in our early 40's. We are Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We are active in our church and have both served in leadership positions in both the ward and stake.
This is the perspective we bring to the table.
It is our hope that as we chronicle our journey.... both you (the reader) and us (the writers) can find strength. The purpose of this blog is to show that Families and relationships can heal through the atonement of Jesus Christ. As of this post... we are still at the very beginning of our journey... We recognize that the road ahead is filled with ups and downs. We hope that as we chronicle our journey we can share with you what the healing process looks like.
